NCRM is pleased to announce that Alexandru Cernat has been appointed to work on Work Package 3:  ‘Accounting for informative item nonresponse in biomarkers collected in longitudinal surveys’ at the University of Manchester. Alexandru will join the research team of Profs. Natalie Shlomo, Tarani Chandola and Patrick Sturgis who will be investigating  modelling approaches to compensate for missing data when analysing  biological data in longitudinal surveys. There is typically more missing biomarker data in longitudinal surveys, compared to other survey data. Such missing data may result from non-compliance to provide biological data or linkage errors and therefore may be related to the unobserved variables of interest. Without explicitly accounting for this type of informative missing data, results arising from statistical analysis and inference may be biased. Alexandru is currently completing his PhD   at ISER, the University of Essex on the topic of Survey Methodology.
