A free webinar will explore the ways in which researchers can access documents and data from the European Union.
The event – FOI requests as a research tool: access to EU documents and the role of the European Ombudsman – will be held on Wednesday, 7 December 2022, between 10:00 and 11:00 GMT.
It is the second webinar in a new NCRM series on the use of freedom of information requests in social research.
The two speakers are Markus Spörer, Policy Adviser to the European Ombudsman, and Vicky Cann, a researcher and campaigner at Corporate Europe Observatory.
The webinar series is part of NCRM’s Innovation Fora programme, which aims to stimulate imaginative developments in research methods within the social science community and beyond.
The series is being organised by a team from the Global Health Policy Unit at the University of Edinburgh: Dr Kathrin Lauber, Dr Eleanor Brooks and Dr Rob Ralston.
A summary of the first webinar in the series, which looked at collaboration beyond academia, is available to read on the NCRM website.
To conclude the series, an in-person workshop will take place in London in March 2023, with the aim of expanding on some of the discussions from the webinars.
