NCRM is inviting researchers to contribute to its unique new event, the Research Methods Rendezvous.
The two-day, online event will provide attendees with the opportunity to present ideas for new research and develop them with other researchers.
It is designed to be a source of inspiration, a research incubator and a networking opportunity for researchers at all career stages.
The rendezvous will take place over two half-day sessions on 10 September and 29 October 2025, with a seven-week interval between the dates providing time to work on the discussed projects.
Call for contributions
NCRM welcomes applications for lightning talks on the first of the two days of the event.
The talks will present initial ideas or “I wonder…” questions that form the very first part of any research project.
These wonderings may be unfinished questions from previous research, empirical observations, theoretical intrigues or methodological curiosities.
The session will offer the chance to share ideas, gain insight from others, connect with potential collaborators and learn from the ways others shape their research.
The deadline to submit an application is 4 March 2025.
Developing research ideas
Following the session on 10 September, the lightning talk presenters will be invited to develop their ideas and design a session for the second day. This may done alone or through collaborations that have emerged from the first session.
On 29 October, speakers will turn their initial ideas into researchable questions, exploring the methods that could be used.
The day will feature several panel sessions, with each providing the opportunity to develop ideas further. The call for contributions include four possible session formats. However, NCRM is open to format suggestions.
