PhD poster exhibition

Research students attending the Festival were encouraged to exhibit a poster about their research. The posters were expected to convey something about the research student's research topic and the methodology they employ.

The posters were judged by a panel on the following criteria:

1.  Academic quality of content.

2.  Communication of ideas in a simple and accessible manner.

3.  Engaging and thought-provoking presentation.

 

The winners of the poster exhibition competition at the 6th ESRC Research Methods Festival were:

1st prize to Ulrike Rauer, Oxford Internet Institute, for her research poster on 'Internet use and health outcomes: Using secondary data for spatial microsimulation'. 2nd prize to Joe Winter, Institute of Education University of London, for his research poster on 'Constructions of parenting and social support: narratives of parenting identities and practices in online and face-to-face contexts'. 3rd prize to Laura Gibson, University of Sheffield, for her research poster on 'Childhood obesity, an outcome of childhood health and family lifestyle: A dynamic latent factor model'.
