Description:

This course introduces participants to Respondent Centred Design, its origins and applicability to survey design. Through hands-on activities participants will develop understanding of the principles and how to apply them.

Respondent Centred Design is an approach that puts the survey participant at the heart of survey design. This course provides an introduction to Respondent Centred Design and an overview of the Respondent Centred Design Framework and Agile delivery methodology that support Respondent Centred Design.

Taught over two mornings you will learn about

  • What Respondent Centred Design is
  • The ways in which Respondent Centred Design is used in the design of everyday objects and services, and its application to surveys
  • The Respondent Centred Design Framework and its application to survey design
  • How to use the Respondent Centred Design Framework in Agile survey development

Throughout the course participants will have opportunities to practice using Respondent Centred Design principles and the Respondent Centred Design Framework. By the end of the course participants will have:

  • An understanding of Respondent Centred Design and its relevance to survey design
  • The ability to use the Respondent Centred Design Framework in Agile survey development

This course is relevant to people involved in the design of surveys, survey communications and survey questionnaires. Attendees are encouraged to  bring a design problem to work through using what they learn in each module.
