Python is an interpreted high-level programming language for general-purpose programming which is becoming the language of choice for many data analysts. This course is intended as an introduction to the Python programming language. Through the use of taught material and practical examples, participants will build up the skills needed to perform data analysis using Python.
Delegates are expected to have Python on their laptops.
Learning Outcomes
The course is being delivered over 2 morning sessions. It will give the learner the fundamental understanding of Python to use it to manipulate and work with data. By the end of the course, participants will have a good working knowledge of Python, allowing them to deal with and manipulate data using pandas.
Topics Covered
- Introduction to Python: A brief overview of the background and features including packages and virtual environments.
- Data types: A summary of Python’s core data types and structures
- Pandas: An introduction to manipulating data via Series and DataFrame including basic visualisation
Target Audience
This course will appeal to anyone wanting to learn Python with no prior knowledge as well as those with a basic knowledge of Python who want to fully understand how the base language works. The course will also suit those wanting to know and understand the package Pandas and the use of DataFrames in Python.
